I have great news for the readers of Baldscientist.
Based in part on the experience writing this blog, I have been working for the last couple of years on my first book, which will be published by Oxford University Press this coming March.
It is a popular science book, mostly about neurobiology in general and about the brain in particular among several other things from, if I may, a unique perspective. I wrote it with the interested layperson in mind and I hope that it will also be useful to my academic colleagues.
Without further ado, here is the cover of “The First Brain”.
Thank you, my readers, fellow bloggers, and friends & colleagues who inspired me to do this. You know who you are… (:-)… More details forthcoming. I will announce the exact release date as soon as I learn of it myself. To say that I am excited about it is quite and understatement!

I will be able to persuade you to sign my copy, right?

Julianna asked me to say “congratulations” for her (and she said the book cover was “cool.”
Congratulations!! Judging by your specialization, should I understand that planarians were the organisms with the first brain? (Wait, am I giving away the ending?) 🙂
(;-)
