I have been meaning to take the picture below for some time now. Maybe today I am in a philosophical mood -To be honest, I have been like this for some time now-
Anyway, the picture shows a wheelchair that belonged to my late father-in-law, who lived with us until he passed on July, 2013, at almost 90 years old. The bike belongs to my 12 year old son. I simply noticed that both the wheelchair and the bike are kind of the same color and that made me think… Does it make you think?
Life is filled with irony but sometimes I can only await life as it comes. My elderly Father turns 100 soon… When I was younger, I used to ask him about Einstein, Pauling, FDR, Eisenhower, JFK and MLK, but as I grew older I realized that the collective wisdom he passed down was present in his actions. He suffers no dementia and has only mobility issues.
The wisdom that I have gleaned from his presence is to learn to be more patient, and try to be a loving son. I am sure that one day I will philosophize about his present state–but that bridge will be crossed when it comes. Peace to you and your family, John
That you have your dad is a true blessing, and even better that his mind is still here. Thanks for sharing. Oné
You are quite welcome, Oné.
I think this picture is missing a red convertible with black vinyl roof in the middle. 🙂
You are absolutely right!
It does make you think. It reminds me of the circle of life, or the wheels of life.
Yes indeed…
Your father in law, Senior Rivera, was the first man Liza loved and he set the standard for who she would chose and you are doing the same thing for your children. Both vehicles rest upon the deck which I presume you either built of paid for someone else to build. The deck represents the support you provide to past and future generations.
Deep!
