This year, Christmas really came in July for this planarian researcher.
(:-)
I have been waiting for this book for quite a while. If you work or are thinking of working with planarians this is a must-have resource, end of story. You can find the table of contents here, but I can tell you that this book, Edited by Dr. Jochen Rink (Research Group Leader, Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden, Germany), has quite a bit of everything for almost everyone, from planarian ecology and systematics all the way to specific experimental methods with regeneration as a common theme. This book is not for the casual reader. It is quite pricey and understandably technical. If you want to learn the very basics about planarians, this is not the book for you. However, Dr. Rink’s book is again, a must-have for researchers using planarians as a model. If you are one, I am sure you will enjoy it. I know I am.
